ROASTWORKS

We roast our different blends, single origins and decaf in our 5kg Super Shop Roaster which is affectionately known as "Max".

Max is located in our Espresso Bar in Crows Nest. Being a specialty coffee roaster, there are no computers. No setting of a timer and walking away. We log every minute of the roast using paper and pen, carefully monitoring and controlling gas, airflow and drum speed by hand, following our carefully crafted roasting profiles.

We are passionate about our coffee, and we are committed to provide you with only the finest, freshest , socially responsible coffee available.

Behind the scenes we spend a lot of time focused on sourcing high quality beans, with an emphasis on beans from farms who grow organically or use sustainable agricultural techniques.

To produce great tasting coffee, you have to start with fantastic green beans. We choose only 'specialty' grade (scoring 80+) which we can trace back to the Farmer, Co-Op, Plantation or Estates who grew the coffee.

All of our beans are grown organically (either certified, or grown that way traditionally by the farming communities). We cup every lot of coffee we source to ensure quality and package our coffee fresh from the roaster to ensure fresh delivery to you.

We believe that you will notice the difference in the cup.

You can normally find us 'spinning some green' every Friday. Come along, hang out, ask questions, and share in the experience.
